Supporting networking and collaborative research among early career scientists and clinicians.

Linking obesity and chronobiology - initiation visit

Elena Gangitano, Sapienza University of Rome

Aims

I am an early-carrier clinical scientist, doing my PhD in Sapienza University of Rome.  My research focus is on metabolic diseases, and I am particularly interested in studying the relationship between circadian rhythm and obesity.

Professor David Ray, of the University of Oxford, is a leading expert on chronobiology.  The Bioscientifica Trust's support would provide me with the opportunity to visit him and his laboratory and establish networking connection and long-term international collaborations.

Moreover, I will gain experience on specific laboratory techniques for the study of circadian rhythm.
